Amy Merli is a professional dancer based in the Hartford area and originally from Harwinton CT. She is a graduate of the Hartford Conservatory and has studied with the Limon Professional Studies Program while living in NYC.
She has performed/worked with Full Force Dance Theater, Pioneer Valley Ballet, Ballet Theatre Company, Dance Connect, Ruth Lewis, Debbie Goffe of Scapegoat Garden, Michael Uthoff, and Laura Glenn. In honor of Ted Hershey's 10
anniversary Amy was selected to perform Ted's work set by Laura Glenn and Michael Uthoff's piece Ode to Limon at the Bushnell Theater spring 2008.
Amy has studied with master teachers such as Milton Meyers, Risa Steinburg, Gail Corbin,
Betty Jones, Donald Byrd, Rascal Rioult and Sean Curran. While studying at the Limon school Amy performed Limon repertory and Humphrey repertory while working with Limon company members past and present. Amy has also attended many Paul Taylor
summer and winter intensives; and has learned and performed Taylor repertory. Amy has also participated in Syren Dance Company's '09 workshop. Amy also teaches for Westminster School and Ballet Theatre. She is also is a certified yoga instructor and personal trainer that teaches Yoga and Body conditioning through out the Hartford area. Amy has been dancing with CONNetic since 2008.
