CONNetic Dance is a professional contemporary ballet company based out of Hartford, CT. The company, now in its fourth season, is comprised of a talented ensemble of diverse, exciting, and artistic professional dancers under the direction of Carolyn Paine. They are the company in residence at West Hartford's Ballet Theatre Academy.

CONNetic Dance continually creates unique, athletic choreography executed by the technically crisp dancers. They are also known for their inventive and exciting lifts and partnering work. Performances by the company are always fun and audience pleasing. CONNetic Dance has performed throughout CT, NY and MA, and has a growing repertoire of athletic works. The company is also committed to dance education and has teamed with the school at West Hartford's Ballet Theatre Academy and their Give Kids a Chance Through Dance Charity.CONNetic Dance has performed throughout the region at Dance Festivals in Martha's Vineyard, New York City, and Boston, MA. In CT, they have performed at The Wadsworth Atheneum, The Kate in Old Saybrook, and at The Charter Oak Cultural Center as part of the annual Ted Hershey Dance Marathon.
The company is very involved in the community and has been asked to participate in several performances for local charities, including performing at the Hartford WE CAN fundraiser for the CT Aids Resource Coalition featuring actress Gloria Reuben and opening for Cirque du Soleil at the Cirque du Cure ball for Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation at The Hartford Convention Center, as well at the Japan Relief Benefit Concert in Hartford. The company also served as Fairy Godmothers, working diligently in the community collecting prom dress donations and giving dance lessons for the CT Association of Foster and Adoptive Parents to create a magical evening for teenage girls in foster care in CT. In 2011, CONNetic Dance pledged to go green and dancer/choreographer Amy Merli premiered a new work on that theme at the company’s very unique Earth Day Trashion Fashion Show which celebrated the arts going green. CONNetic Dance's commitment to the CT community shone in their exciting fundraiser, Dancing with the CT Stars, at The Pond House in Elizabeth Park. The fundraiser for “Give Kids a Chance Through Dance” paired each of the CONNetic professional dancers with a CT-based celebrity. Celebrities who danced included World Wrestling Entertainment legend Sgt. Slaughter, Senator Jonathan Harris, and Mark Twain himself! |

CONNetic Dance also strives to make their dance accessible and inspiring to all audiences and regularly offers free performances in Elizabeth Park.CONNetic Dance was formed in 2006 by dancers and choreographers in CT who wanted to challenge themselves as artists while exploring the lengths to which classical ballet can be taken with sensual, dynamic, and intriguing contemporary choreography.
