In December 2010, CONNetic debuted their fun “Nutcracker Suite and Spicy” at The Aetna
Theatre at The Wadsworth Atheneum. A totally different kind of Nutcracker featuring the
company’s signature style of fusion of athletic dance forms including tap, jazz, and hip hop and seasoned with their signature sense of humor the production was well received and is undoubtedly becoming a Hartford holiday tradition with it’s high energy Ugly Sweater Party Scene, breath-taking Snow Ball, and high kicking Florettes. All set to a fun compilation of diverse music inspired by Tchaikovsky’s classic score as well as some original compositions by Kenneth Lundquist, Jr. who also plays Drosselmeyer. The show features a beautiful contemporary work of art depicting Hartford landmarks by local artist Ethan Boisvert as the backdrop. As one audience member put it, this production breathed life into a badly beaten deadhorse”

Artful Wine Tasting Fundraiser

This wonderful evening will feature a wine tasting provided by West Hartford's Harvest Wines and a silent auction featuring art from prominent local artists.

Join CONNetic Dance and Artist Ethan Boisvert at City Hall in Hartford as we celebrate the unveiling of Ethan Boisvert's "Spicy City" in the Atrium of City Hall.
"Spicy City" is the 30ft original backdrop commissioned by CONNetic for "Nutcracker Suite and Spicy." The painting depicts some of Hartford's most prominent landmarks in Artist Ethan Boisvert's distinct contemporary styling. Director Carolyn Paine says this is why she chose artist Boisvert to create the backdrop for CONNetic's unique production. "I knew his contemporary style and rendering of Hartford's classic buildings would be a perfect compliment to our more contemporary take on the classic production."
This free to the public event will begin with a reception at 6pm. At 7pm, there will be a short discussion period with Director/Choreographer Carolyn Paine and Artist Ethan Boisvert.
CONNetic Dance will also perform a special preview of excerpts from the upcoming "Nutcracker Suite and Spicy."
